  • Partner with the Executive Producer to lead programming and provide editorial oversight for a 30-member show team.
  • Oversee the design and execution of investigative methods, including surreptitious recordings, data-driven research, laboratory testing, and academic partnerships.
  • Edit 22-minute show scripts and digital reports for structure, flow, clarity, and impact. Direct a digital strategy that consistently achieves top engagement.
  • Ensure investigative work adheres to CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP) and work closely with legal counsel to navigate risk.  
  • Direct the production of multiplatform content, adapting complex investigative findings for video, digital, audio, and social media. 
  • Coordinate with various news desks and departments to execute high- impact, multi-day news rollouts.
  • Identify and approve pitches of national interest, assigning story teams and resources while providing end-to-end editorial direction and support.
  • Designed and implemented an investigative journalism “Bootcamp” to onboard junior staff and refresh best practices for intermediate and senior journalists.
